Blue Is The Warmest Color

/

I’m a girl, and girls date boys

I knew Blue Is The Warmest Color was going to be a tear jerker after the first page. I picked up this graphic novel, having only heard a bit about the controversy with the actors in the  film adaption,  So I didn’t know to much about the plot. Fair Warning : be prepared to be taken on an emotional roller-coaster.

The Graphic novel tells the story of  a girl name Clementine who is on a journey of self-discovery. It begins at with her at age 15  and carries on into her thirties. It focus on her relationship with her parents, but primarily on her and her love-at-first-sight (or lust turned love) lover Emma.

There’s not much more to say in regards to the plot, without giving too much away. And this is one of those stories that’s emotional kick comes from not knowing too much beforehand.  Its’ definately a story about the adventure of being in love, the work that is necessary in making a relationship last and living life to it’s fullest, despite the opinions of others. Definitely a great read.

Have you read Blue Is The Warmest Color? What did you think?
