Heart of Venom is the type of book that grabs you in the first chapter and keeps you on the edge of your seat until the last one. Its great because the plot is forever moving and you never want to put the book down.
What starts out as a simple girls day of pampering and eating yummy foods with Bria, Jo-Jo, Sophia and Roslyn, turns into disaster when a man named Harley Grimes barges into the Deveraux sisters home with some thugs, shoots Jo-Jo and kidnaps Sophia. For what seems like the first time in a long time, these men arent after the infamous Gin Blanco.
Harley Grimes is an elemental and crime boss from Sophia’s past. He’s the reason her voice was destroyed and in this book we learn a lot about why Sophia is the way she is and how Gin’s mentor Fletcher helped the sisters out in the past. Sophia is a character I’ve always wondered about, so it was good to finally to learn about her history.
At the end of the book we get a tiny bit of information about the mysterious M.M. Monroe, who is the man or woman that the dearly depart Mab Monroe left her fortune too. It’s going to be interesting to see who this person is and just how much trouble this means for Gin!
Book #10 in the series is called The Spider and is set to come out Christmas Eve.
