I did this review last year, and I should have posted it prior to the most recent book in the series, but better late then never 🙂
I pretty much enjoyed this book from the first sentence. The world Gin aka Spider— a female assassin lives in is pretty dark and gritty.
Most books dealing with the supernatural world has vampires on the top of the food chain, but in this world the ones on top are the people who can use what “power” they have to benefit them. Gin is one of many people who has the ability to control certain elements—specifically ice and stone. The vampires are mostly portrayed as hookers and as species who pretty much are as helpless as a human. Pretty opposite of any other book i’ve read dealing with them.
I am really excited to read the next book considering it ended with a sort of cliff hanger— the fact that Gin’s sister is alive. I’m hoping there was a good reason as to why Fletcher didn’t tell her.
